Social Media & Online Community Policy  

Queensland Women for Yes values engaging with its audience on social media platforms and believes in fostering a positive and respectful online community. We encourage all users to participate in our social media channels and contribute to meaningful discussions while adhering to the guidelines outlined below.

1. Respect and Civility:

  • Treat others with respect, even if you disagree with their opinions.

  • Refrain from using offensive language, hate speech, or any form of discrimination.

  • Maintain a courteous and friendly tone when interacting with Queensland Women for Yes and other users.

2. Appropriate Content:

  • Only share content that is relevant to the topic of discussion or the purpose of the post.

  • Do not post spam, irrelevant links, or self-promotion.

  • Avoid sharing sensitive or confidential information, whether it's your own or others'.

3. Constructive Criticism:

  • We appreciate constructive feedback. If you have concerns or suggestions, express them in a polite and constructive manner.

  • Do not engage in personal attacks, name-calling, or derogatory comments. Focus on the issue, not the individual.

4. Privacy:

  • Respect the privacy of individuals, including WOW Australia’s employees and customers. Do not share personal or contact information without permission.

  • Do not share any sensitive or private data related to Queensland Women for Yes.

5. Intellectual Property:

  • Respect copyright and intellectual property rights. Do not share content that you do not have the right to share, such as copyrighted material or proprietary information.

6. Spam and Misinformation:

  • Report any spam, fake accounts, or content that appears to spread misinformation or violates platform guidelines.

  • Verify the accuracy of the information you share before posting it. Misleading information can harm the community.

7. Stay on Topic:

  • Keep the conversation relevant to the original post or topic of the thread.

  • If you have a different topic to discuss, consider starting a new thread or post.

8. Acknowledgment:

  • By engaging with Queensland Women for Yes on social media, you agree to comply with these guidelines.

  • Queensland Women for Yes reserves the right to remove or moderate any content that violates these guidelines or is not in the best interest of our community.

While we do not discriminate against views or opinions posted to our social networking accounts, we reserve the right to remove or not approve any comment. Commenters will be reminded to adhere to the social media guidelines.

If a comment is considered to contravene our guidelines, it may not be edited or modified to remove unacceptable content; the entire comment will simply be deleted. Multiple or extreme offences will result in the commenter, and their cohort, being blocked from our social media channels.

Some of the reasons we may remove or not approve a comment are listed below:

  • Abusive, vulgar, obscene, racist, threatening, or harassing comments.

  • Libel, slander, or personal attacks of any kind, including the use of offensive terms that target specific individuals or groups.

  • Spam, including content that promotes products or services or contains gratuitous links.

  • Makes unsupported accusations.

  • Comments that suggest or encourage illegal, dangerous, or destructive activity.

  • Duplicate posts.

  • Clearly off topic.

  • Political campaigning or lobbying.

Queensland Women for Yes encourages public interaction and communication about the content we post on our social media accounts. However, this does not imply that Queensland Women for Yes agrees with or accepts the content, opinions, or views expressed within any public comment. The person who posts a comment is solely responsible for the content of the comment.
