Voting Yes in the upcoming referendum is important as I believe this will increase the way we can and will empower the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities as they are always marginalized and underrepresented. Voting Yes will also ensure that they have equal opportunities and rights, that their voices are valued, heard and that they will be included in decision-making processes. This is also an opportunity to bring about positive social change, break down barriers that exist for the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities and promote a more equitable future for them.
I support the voice to parliament as it is also a reinforcement of the importance of including the voices of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to ensure that they can actively participate in shaping a more equitable future for their communities and future generations.
By coming together in solidarity with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, we will be able through our collective efforts help the Indigenous communities overcome obstacles and support them.
As a migrant woman, its been encouraging to see so many women from diverse backgrounds come together to support the Yes Voice Campaign and who are also sharing their stories, voicing their support and actively participating in the Yes Voice campaign.
Their contributions continue to enrich and amplify the campaign’s message as it carries significant weight in highlighting and advancing the rights of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their perspectives which will bring about the much needed positive changes.
We need to listen and hear from the Indigenous communities and support them and have their voices included in Australia’s democratic framework, ans rebuild the trust that has been broken.
