Billions have been spent on Indigenous Affairs, with good intentions, over the past decades. But the gaps are not closing.
We need to listen to our First Australians and ensure the grassroots voice is being elevated to the highest levels of policy making. With the voice also comes responsibility and accountability by First Australians for policy outcomes.
As a nation we can walk and chew gum - constitutional recognition AND meaningful on the ground improvements for First Australians.
